Meet the team

Safe Industries Australia Pty Ltd was established in 2007 when Daniel Morgan, a partner in Equilaw Solicitors, asked Daniel Bowcock to join him to form a company dedicated to health and safety advice. They recognised the growing number of businesses in all industries requiring assistance to meet their increasing legislative requirements.

The team that makes up Safe Industries Australia is:

Daniel BowcockDaniel Bowcock
A director of Safe Industries Australia, Daniel has 30 years experience working in the agricultural, cropping and livestock industry and the Thoroughbred Breeding Industry. He has also worked and managed his own business in the construction, earthmoving and waste management industries for a number of years. He has always strongly advocated WHS management systems in these industries.

Daniel brings a hands-on and practical approach to WHS gained from his experience over such a wide range of industries. This experience allows him to work closely with our clients and their staff to understand the issues and problems faced in order to provide a safe workplace.

Daniel holds an Associate Diploma in Farm Management, Certificate 4 in Workplace Assessment and Training and has taught the Certificate 4 OHS course at Muswellbrook TAFE.

Daniel MorganDaniel Morgan
A solicitor with 23 years experience working in Employment Law, Workers Compensation and OHS/WHS, among Daniel's significant cases was to defend an Employer before prosecutions in front of the Chief Industrial Magistrate. In Inspector Paul Wade V Yore Contractors Pty Limited [2003] NSWCIMC 53 and 93, it was a rare victory by Daniel for the Employer, where he established a defence under Section 53 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983. In this case, the Chief Industrial Magistrate found the Employer had no control and could not prevent an accident or injury having provided all such information, instruction and training to ensure a safe workplace to which the employee did not follow. In addition, costs were awarded against the WorkCover Authority.

Daniel has also been involved in representing Employers in pleas of mitigation for prosecutions before the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW including: Robert William Regan V Muswellbrook Crane Services Pty Ltd [2007] NSWIR COMM 13.

It was his rare understanding of work health and safety issues, which led Daniel to identify the need to tailor work health and safety advice to each business, particularly within the Thoroughbred and agriculture industries.
